It is virtually impossible to outline a single chart of specifications since actual results depend on many factors--geometry, size, and material, to name the more important. The following data are provided as general guidelines of what we normally accomplish with diamond machining. Every case deserves individual consideration, however, and we invite you to discuss your metal reflector requirements with our engineering staff.

Shape...................With few exceptions: flats, concave or convex paraboloids, ellipsoids, hyperboloids, spheres and toroidal sections including off-axis variations of these figures. Cylindrical form of elliptical or circular cross sections.
Sizes...................To 860 mm diameter for revolved shapes.

Optical Speed...........From .1 to .20.
(f Stop No.)

Form....................Absolute surface accuracy: ± 3 microns. Figure accuracy: to one half wave at 632.8 nm or better depending on Accuracy size and shape of mirror.

Slope Error............Less than 5 sec. of arc.

Surface.................A 100 Å (.4 microinches) RMS or better
Finish

Blur Circle............As small as 10 microns

Plating................Electro and electroless nickel, gold, rhodium and silver

Evaporative............Gold, protected gold, silver, protected silver, enhanced aluminum, AlSiO, AlMgF2 and silver with MgF2
